With all of the brouhaha about burqas in public, etc. I did a little research and found some suggestions for new Immigration Laws for Australia that may ease the situation somewhat.

Before you start flaming me, READ the whole post – I’m not saying I agree with them.

New Immigration Laws

  1. There will be NO bi-lingual programs in any Australian school
  2. All election ballot will be conducted in THIS COUNTRY’s language
  3. All Government business will be conducted in THIS COUNTRY’s language
  4. Non-Citizens (i.e. non-naturalised) will have NO RIGHT to vote, no matter how long they have lived here
  5. Non-Citizens (i.e. non-naturalised) will NEVER be able to hold political office
  6. Foreigners will NOT be a burden to taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care or any other Government programs
  7. Foreigners may invest in this country, but it must be AT LEAST an amount equal to 40,000 times the minimum daily wage
  8. Foreigners may purchase land, however options will be severely limited. Certain parcels of land, including all waterfront property, are reserves for naturally-born citizens
  9. Foreigners may have no protests, no demonstrations, no displaying or waving of a foreign flag, no membership of political organizations, no critisism of the Prime Minister or Government policies. Any breach of these laws will result in immediate deportation.
  10. If you enter this country illegally, you will be actively hunted down and, when caught, jailed until your deportation orders are arranged. Any and all assets accumulated by you will be confiscated.

Do you thing these laws are too strict or unfair ? So do I, but these are the current immigration laws in EVERY MUSLIM COUNTRY on Earth.

Now that my contract is finished with the Australian Museum, I’m taking a few days to get rid of some…. stuff… that is cluttering up the study at Casa Moldor.

Too much to go through in detail, and to be quite honest I couldn’t be bothered, but here’s a partial list of what is there;

2 x Gb PCI network cards
1 x full length SCSI caching raid controller
1 x DV2000 TV tuner (with remote and a couple of the cables)
Several Sound Blaster type sound cards (at least 1 x Audigy and 1 x AWE)
1 x HDD Sherriff – stops kids from deleting files from the hard drive
Heaps more…

And sundry CD audio cables, a couple of Express34 cards with software (1 x eSATA, 1 x Serial), etc.

There is also a box of PC RAM, of various types and sizes – all should be OK, but no guarantees as it’s been collected over a few years.

Whoever wants it takes the lot, and pays postage (shouldn’t be all that much)

There is also a Dell Poweredge 2300 Server – from memory, 2Gb RAM and 3 x 36Gb SCSI drives, plus 2 x DVD drives. Works, but sounds like a typical DELL server – that is to say noisier than an A380 with the engine cowling gone !!

It’s heavy, so this will be a pickup only – arrangements can be made within reason.

Oh, also an APC 2500KVA UPS with an external battery box. The electronics work perfectly, but it keeps telling me the batteries need replacing (I had them replaced in 2001). Cost of batteries at that time was around $700. Still, UPS for free and new batteries would give you something that will run almost anything.

(Note: The batteries *may* be able to be reconditioned, but no guarantees)

Everything is free, pay postage only. If you feel guilty about taking all of this for free, make a donation to the RSPCA of what you think it’s worth to you.

All given away AS IS – no guarantees on anything.
